TICKET TO THE SUMMER

After five, YES FIVE weeks of having the crud and then catching up on work and life, I am back!!  Flu turned into a light pneumonia.  Found out some really interesting things while being sick, but will not focus on that!

During that time, I have purchased those tickets to the UK!!!  My daughter and I leave on May 31!!  Friend, Sarah Jones of NAIC Photography is collecting me at the airport in Manchester!!  The two weeks to follow while there is going to be amazing!!  My 10 Reasons To Live will have released their latest album, CITY LIFE, and I'm begging for a gig while I am over!!  To put the icing on the cake, DEF LEPPARD is going to be headlining the DOWNLOAD Festival on Friday, June 10!!  NOTHING could be better than me getting to see both my bands while I am there!!

I have also purchased tix to three other Leppard gigs through the summer in the US!  Four days after I return from the UK, I will see Leppard in Atlanta, Georgia.  One month later will be Leppard in New Orleans, Louisiana....September will be Leppard in Las Vegas, Nevada!!  A summer of Lepaprd!!  Nothing could be better for me....except catering jobs to finance the spending money!! hahahaha!

Later everyone!!

Ticket to a train on a different track

I completely lost my train of thought this past week.  I was going to stay on music for a few days or weeks, but you know that LIFE gives us different tickets to different places everyday.  Oh how the tickets flew in from that ticketmaster.  Ask and ye shall receive; Be Careful What You Ask For; Karma is a Bitch; how many sayings can I use?

All I know is that I was snowed in for over a week and just about lost my mind.  I should have been in a more creative state of mind, BUT NOOOOO!  Shut In and Shut Down.  Now back to work, catering for 550 on a Thursday night, after 8 hours of work; catering calls one after another, nieces wedding in March, daughter trying to decide on what to do with her life and ME?  Thankful for all the madness and the business, but jeeez!?  All in a four day span?  Crashed at 4:30 on Friday afternoon and slept away my Friday Night.  So much for a girls night out.  Bummed all day at home with some housework and laundry, wow things getting more exciting for you?  Tried catching up on paperwork before end of the month today in the office, and come home with a sore throat and stuffy nose!  Poooooooo!

My mind is so wound up I don't even think I could write about music, so I'll say that work is my other addiction.  Full time job,  6:00 am till 2:00 p.m., part time job 2:30 - 4:00 each afternoon, catering every few weeks, and then music promotions after that when I have free time.  I've been waiting for my catering business to take off, and boy oh boy were the stars correct!   Like I said, ask and ye shall receive or be careful what you ask for, that is where I was going with those sayings.

Why do I work so much?  To have a Ticket To Travel!  That is where it all comes together for me.  My extra work gives me the opportunity to travel, which is another addiction.  Oh, did I mention my addictions?  #1 MUSIC, #2 WORK, #3 TRAVEL

Ok so my story goes, I listen to music as I work and I work to travel.  Need I say more?

I shall say goodnight as Freddy Krueger has slid down my throat and I feel like yuck.

Ticket To NAMM......Oh How I WISH!

NAMM !  That's the buzz around L.A. and the music world this week and weekend!  Anyone that loves music would want to be at NAMM.  What I am posting in the next paragraph is from the NAMM "about" page.

Before there was an industry or an association, there was a belief…in music. That belief led to a mission: to unify, lead and strengthen the global music products industry and increase active participation in music making.  NAMM, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), commonly called NAMM in reference to the organization's popular NAMM trade shows, is the not-for-profit association that unifies, leads and strengthens the $17 billion global music products industry.   http://www.namm.org/about    Take 4 minutes and 1 second out of your day and watch the video "in every corner of the world".   This video is in the upper left corner of the about page in the link above.

What I like to see if people of all walks of life participate in music.  Yea, I'm not much into politics like when President Clinton jammed with Tony Bennett, if you can call that jamming, but to see such people appreciate music does make them seem more down to earth.  At  yesterday's show at NAMM, Phil Collen of Def Leppard jams with Arkansas Governor, Mike Huckabee.

Music is an art form whose medium is sound. Common elements of music are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. The word derives from Greek μουσική (mousike), "(art) of the Muses."[1] (from wikipedia)

BELIEVE IN MUSIC!!

Music makes me, ME!

Goodnight.

Ticket To Meet 10 Reasons To Live

Ahhh, that's where I was getting to last night, or rather this morning when sleep began to call.

http://www.10reasonstolive.com/

Five of the hottest looking guys you'll ever see.  10 Reasons To Live have come along way since these young school friends decided they wanted to be Rock Musicians,  an ambition not unusual in one of the cities that has produced one of the most famous bands of all times,  ‘The Beatles’.   What sets these guys apart is there unswerving determination to succeed?  10rtl went through a lead singer change in the midst of my promoting them.  The new addition was a success! Steve McNally, formally of BBMAK became the new lead for 10rtl.  The unveiling was on June 3, 2009 the Britbus Showcase Tour @ Korova in Liverpool.  This proved to be a wonderful addition to the band. In addition, Ste Mak plays guitar and what band doesn't need another player!

I've been trying to get over to Liverpool for the past 2 years to actually meet the guys in person.  Feels a little strange that I work so feverishly on bringing a band to America, but something just clicked the day I met Paul online and it's all history from there.

Ticket To Begin

As I wonder how to begin, I know I cannot fathom where that is.  As much as I sit and imagine what I will do today, who I will talk with, who I will chat with online, who I will meet, or where I will go, beginning this blog is definitely something new.  I have to admit as much work as I do online, I am not computer savvy.

Being able to manifest more in life for myself and for the people around me is something that is very important for me at this point in my life.  I was told by a dear friend that I should choose one thing I am passionate about and write about that.  How do I choose?  Music, Travel, Cooking, Concerts, Volunteer, Advocate, Lupus, Health.  Again, how do I choose?  OK...TOSS!  I will cover each subject as the time comes, but I will start with music.

I LOVE MUSIC!  How could I go a day with out music?  IMAGINE!! ME! Going one entire day without music!  As soon as I hit the snooze button on the radio alarm, at least twice, my feet hit the floor and turn on the stereo in the living room.  Hair Guitar is pre-selected on my DTV and that is what gets me going in the mornings, not to mention the 6 cups of coffee before I leave for work!

Looking back at my childhood I have always loved music, all kinds of music.  My mother was only nineteen when I was born, so as a teenager herself, I inherited her love of music. All the wonderful "45's" and "LP's" I also inherited at the mere age of two when she passed away.  No don't get all down and out and feel sorry for me.  This is not a feel sorry blog, this is an IMAGINE a TICKET TO....better things in life.  I listened to those records over and over as a child.  I still have several of her records but have lost many over the years, of course, who has a "record player" to play vinyls on anymore.

Music can lift you up, bring you down, soothe you, make you remember a particular day or date in your life that nothing else could have brought out of your memory.  Amazing that teachers still use music to teach the alphabet and other hard to learn projects for Pre-K and Kindergarten.

I had a teacher/preacher in church as a teenager that told me music was of the devil.  Music had been cast down out of heaven with Michael the Archangel.  I must be demon possessed by rock music I was so into music.  Can you believe being taught this in church?  Oh how I have to look back and laugh, because we would then stand up and sing praises unto God.  Were we now being blasphemous?

Oh, let's not get into religion.  I'm talking about music, wonderful, wonderful music.  What shall I tell you next?  First album I ever owned or first concert?  Hahahaha, either way it was an OSMOND, 1971. That was the first time I lost my voice at my first concert.  Laughing as I look back.  It was at the Atlanta Fulton County Stadium.  The stage was in the midle of  the field.  You know how small ball players look on a ball field from the stands, imagine Donny in 1971! Hahahaha!  I am quiet sure now I couldn't have seen him at all, but as a 9 year old girl, who cared?  I could hear him!

Music from Donny Osmond, to David Cassidy to brother Shaun Cassidy, Andy Gibb, The Bee Gees as it did for most teenage girls.  However in 1979, I was changed to a Leppard Head!  Along came Def Leppard, I was hooked.  In came the 80's, The Hair Bands Ruled!  I am forever a Leppard Head.

Def Leppard is who led me into music promotions via internet and in my hometown.  Four years ago, online, I met a rhythm guitarist from a band in Liverpool.  Paul Garrett of 10 Reasons To Live.  And it takes off from there!  How, I forsee you asking, does my story help you or me?  Maybe you read and remember your youth and it brings back a happy time, or makes you think of a special friend you have not thought about for quiet some time.  How does this help me or help me manifest?  Sharing, whether it be stories, feelings, songs, recipes, ideas or questions will help me manifest something everyday.  It always has and always will.

I hate to cut this beginning to an end for tonight but I must.
